Assistant Regulatory Specialist Santa ana Full time

Chambers Group is seeking an Assistant Regulatory Specialist to join the Marine Biology Group in the Santa Ana Office. This is a temporary position with a potential to become a full-time position.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, assistance with writing technical reports (e.g., jurisdictional delineations, biological technical reports), preparation of regulatory permitting application packages, and assistance with writing and conducting environmental assessments in compliance with CEQA and/or NEPA. One year of experience related to biological resources assessments, jurisdictional waters delineation, regulatory agency permitting, coordination with state and federal regulatory agencies, or CEQA/NEPA documents is preferred. Experience with ArcGIS, familiarity with MS PowerPoint and Project, or demonstration of critical thinking skills also are preferred.

Position Requirements
- B.S./B.A. in marine biology, ecology, natural resources, environmental studies/planning or a related field.
- Familiarity with aquatic, wetland and/or marine species in Southern California
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Environmental Planner Santa ana Fulltime
LOCATIONS: LOCATIONS: Santa Ana, Los Angeles, Redlands, San Diego

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of recent experience in environmental consulting project management experience and preparing and managing CEQA and NEPA documents. This position will be responsible for managing project teams of in-house technical staff and sub-consultants in the preparation of complex environmental documents within prescribed schedules and budgets. The ability to lead and work as part of the team while maintaining constant and positive communication with clients is critical. This senior-level position is also responsible for supplementing our business development team by seeking out new work from existing and potential clients. The ideal candidate needs to possess strong interpersonal skills and, preferably, has established industry ties to potential public- and private-sector clients. The successful candidate must have a BA/BS degree in environmental studies, planning, or a related discipline. A MA/MS degree is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical training and supervision to staff.
- Assists with administrative duties, such as staffing, scheduling, budgeting and allocating resources to meet project requirements.
- Serves as member of project team, as assigned. Serves as a leader on assigned tasks within a project.
- Assists with quality control.
- Performs support in proposal development and other new business activities; assists with the preparation of large proposals, including budgets and schedules.
- Ability to manage multiple mid-size projects or a lesser amount of large projects.
- Assists, monitors and mentors subordinate staff on project activities.
- Manages midsize to larger projects
- Responsible for new bookings with existing and new clients.
- Written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of responsibility.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree required, in natural or physical science, public policy, economics, environmental management, or related subjects and 2 years of experience in a technical lead and/or demonstrated leadership preferred. Professional certifications preferred. Professional association membership participation preferred.

Responsibilities

Proposal Coordination:
- Identify and monitor client leads for project solicitations.
- Write and prepare qualification packages and proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs.
- Develop and update proposal materials such as master resumes and project descriptions.
- Edit and layout graphics for presentations, submittals, or brochures.
- Update and maintain inventory of proposal resources, photos and graphics.
- Assisting in coordinating conference activities and award submissions.
Marketing/Business Development Research:
- Develop and maintain marketing materials such as brochures, sell sheets, and other collateral that demonstrates the firm’s technical capabilities
- Maintains data on registrations, permits, certifications, awards, commendations, etc.
- Generates marketing packages, SOQs and presentation as requested from Senior Management, Marketing Manager, Program Managers and Business Development Team
- Provides company-wide marketing support in other areas as needed and requested by Marketing Manager or Management Team
- Support updates for the website and social media
Technical Report Production:
- Provide support with technical report production including but not limited to:
  - Formatting
  - Printing
  - Collating
  - Binding
  - Shipping
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, or Communications
- 3-5+ years of experience coordinating proposals, in the AEC industry
- Experience in the environmental and natural sciences industry is a plus.
- Strong writing, editing and communications skills
- Experience working with the following desktop programs
  - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  - Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  - HTML
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours to meet deadlines as requested
- Occasionally travels to client offices for meetings
